The Gospel
Recognize your sinful condition before a Holy God.
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).
“For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not” (Ecclesiastes 7:20).
Realize that because of your sins, you deserve death (separation from God).
“For the wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23).
“The soul that sinneth, it shall die” (Ezekiel 18:4).
“Who [those who reject Christ] shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of His power” (2 Thessalonians 1:9).
Remember what Jesus Christ has done for you in paying the full penalty for your sins and taking your punishment by dying on the cross as your Substitute.
He “bare our sins in His own body on the tree” (1 Peter 2:24).
“For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God” (1 Peter 3:18).
“Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures … was buried, and … rose again the third day according to the scriptures” (1 Corinthians 15:3-4).
Receive Jesus Christ as your personal Savior.
“What must I do to be saved? ... Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved” (Acts 16:30-31).
“But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name” (John 1:12).
“Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Romans 10:13).
